TrendSpark: Tattooed, Punk-Rock, Barely Legal Male Models
I was flipping through old issues of i-D, Dazed and Confused and Men’s Vogue while I was home in Buffalo over the holiday weekend. I knew I spotted a trend among male models, but it didn’t hit me until I saw Cole Mohr on the Marc by Marc Jacobs billboard in SoHo one last time…
The Trend: baby-faced, skinny, tattooed, pierced, punk rocking models who look like they just got kicked out of the high school homecoming dance for reeking of cheap beer. Bingo.
Punk boys have been all over the editorials and up and down the runways recently. I absolutely love the awkward, but adorable, high school dropout look…and It looks like I’m not the only one! With Marc Jacobs and Hedi Slimane as avid fans of this look, it seems that the baby-faced punks will be scoring high fashion editorials and shows for years to come. But sorry ladies, just because you look like a prepubescent rocker doesn’t mean your gauged ears and inked arms are fully acceptable in the high fashion industry. It’s unfair, I know…but that’s just the way it is.
Thanks for the photos Models.com!

Shop Indie: Alphabet Ears!
Who knew such a simple concept could break so much fashion ground in Williamsburg? These tiny e.e. Cummings-esque alphabet studs may be as easy as ABC (no pun intended), but they are actually pretty cute! Each stud is sold individually in either 14K gold ($40 each) or silver ($28 each) and they even have a tiny heart stud! Forget friendship rings or “best-friend” necklaces, get your buddy best-friend initial earrings from Catbird! Or, if you’re in the mood for a few extra piercings, put a whole bunch oh holes in your ear and spell out ” I <3 Fashion Indie”…I’m pretty sure we can pardon our squirrelly friend Kimmy Nibbler and make you the new mascot of Fashion Indie! So, how about it?
For your ABC ears, check out Catbird!

Disappear Here Appears Thursday
Disappear Here, the “women’s magazine that appeals to men,” is the rag that Peaches Geldof was working on in her MTV show.
It’s more than just a story line, I guess, because a limited-edition, mini preview issue of Disappear Here will be available for free Thursday in London and New York.
Geldof says she finds the content of the Cosmos and Glamours of the world “patronising” and prefers men’s titles. Staying away from the women-pleasing-men angle, she wants to focus on “music and fashion and film and art and all the tiny pieces of pop culture we love.” She also wants the magazine to be a platform for up-and-coming talent.
I wonder if she stole any secrets from her time with Nylon?
The full debut issue of Disappear Here will hit stands this March, with Peaches on board as Editor-at-Large.
Does the world need another fashion/music/art/culture magazine? In an environment where print titles are folding, scaling back, losing sales, and cutting staff, how long before Disappear Here disappears?
Thanks, Catwalk Queen.

Tyler Durden, I Mean Brad Pitt, I Mean Tyler Durden…
Brad Pitt’s enigmatic Fight Club antihero Tyler Durden has been crowned the Greatest Movie Character of All Time. And to show how much I agree, a gallery above has been added for your viewing pleasure.
Pitt’s turn as Durden beat Star Wars‘ Darth Vader into second place to top the poll by Empire magazine.
Third spot was taken by Heath Ledger’s The Joker in Batman movie The Dark Knight, while Star Wars’ Han Solo came fourth, and serial killer Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs was in fifth place.
The top ten was rounded out by Indiana Jones, The Dude from The Big Lebowski, Pirates of the Caribbean’s Jack Sparrow, Ellen Ripley from the Alien movies, and The Godfather icon Vito Corleone.
Thanks again ICYDK
Oh, wait, there’s more…

The offical movie of THE fashion people has confirmed a numero duo. Ben Stiller stated:
“We’ve been trying to get Zoolander 2 together and we’ve had a few scripts. I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first”.
