Recently introduced for the Fall are two new menu items called Haute
Chocolate Experience which includes cocoa, brown sugar, honey and
cream, and Lavender & Vanilla Experience made with lavender,
chamomile, vanilla and sea salt. I selected the Rose Petal Ritual manicure, a concoction of rose petals, milk, coconut, peppermint and tapioca. While I waited my turn, I sipped on Chai tea and looked around at the impeccably merchandised store that offered such trademark products as Almond Cookie Scrub, a favorite of Mary J. Blige's and Lisa's Hair Elixir and Hair Balm, two faves of Jada Pinkett-Smith.
My nail specialist, Dawn, first pulled out an individually wrapped manicure set (no double dipping at The Back Door) before asking me to select between rounded, squared, or a rounded-square nail shape, then proceeded to file my nail tips accordingly. After my square tips were rounded, my nail beds were tenderly buffed. Dawn was diligent and seemed to take great care in not chafing the skin around my nails and cuticles while explaining that the spa specializes in caring for the natural nail. She soaked each hand alternately in the rose petal elixir while explaining the products she used on the other hand. "Lemon Ginger Mint Manicure in a Jar" was used as a scrub after my soak was complete to exfoliate
