We've seen the swipes of white eyeshadow swept singularly across lash lids or hanging solo under brow bone in the ultimate makeup faux pas. Thankfully, makeup artists like Karen Angus, a favorite of top celebrities like Kelly Clarkson, shows us how to apply it for a classy—and, yes, sassy—appeal. After priming the eye with foundation, Angus swept Chill, a white shade, from M.A.C. across entire eyelid, before adding Well Dressed, a light pink hue also from M.A.C. , to the outer corners. Then she finished the look with a neutral lip color. "It's good to take risks with color," says Angus. "As long as it's blended well."
"Many women use white pencil or eyeshadow by itself without actually blending," adds Lanier Long, our resident makeup expert. "But all eyeshadow needs to be blended, blended, blended—especially when using white and other light colors, which are amazing accent shades."
