YBG Awards
2009 Recipients
On one of the coldest nights in February, a few hundred people gathered after work at S.O.B.'s to honor 20 local business owners and entreprenuers being honored at Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Awards. Recipients ranged from the interactive worlds (AMBERmag.com, Mack Digital and Urbanadserve.com) to local restaurants and retailers (Fish Eye Grill and B. Oyama Boutique) to innovative networkers (The Joint Interest Group) and education and political activists (Anthony Herbert and Ardella McClarty). The "Continued Pursuit of Success" is the motto Carl O. Gray, creator of the YGB Entrepreneurial Awards, President & CEO The NetLinkz Group, Inc. and Co-Founder of the United Caribbean Professional Network (UCPN). The individuals selected to be honored were done partially through a nomination committee of previous honorees, and chosen directly by Mr. Gray, based on their Talents, Ambition & Achievements Toward The Continued Pursuit of Success. "There are many individuals in our lives that do not get the notoriety they deserve because they are not mentioned in the general media, but they are impactful in what they do for their industry and community," says Gray.
JAMROCK Magazine served as the title sponsor.
