Bet Awards

Posted on May 2, 2012 By Anonymous

Last night's BET Awards gave us plenty to talk about. See whose hair was haute and whose was not.

We heart Alicia's molded wave and tight curls.

What happened to Tempest? This didn't even look like she tried. A touch of highlights and a curling iron to help define and enhance her natural texture would have made this look a standout on the red carpet.

Bangs and soft waves give her a sexy, yet brezzy look.

Teairra-Marie's, big, bouncy waves give her a naturally soft, sexy look With hair smoothed in the front and big barrel curls on the sides, Naturi delivers stand-out style on the red carpet.

With jet-black hair and soft, tumbling waves, Amerie hits the right hairstyling note. We heart her just because she makes it easy. And last night was no exception. She pumped her fine hair up with loose waves that look like she was born with it.

Unfortunately, B's blonde locks appear dry and straw-like. It's a bed-head hair gone terribly wrong. When she first shaved one side of her head, it was edgy (and those eyebrows are truly to die-for), but now, it's just boring. And silly.

Thanks for giving us old-school glamour Meagan. And we heart your new color!

This was no slam-dunk, Leslie. Her hair lacks volume and looks completely flat. We love the big waves that framed the 106 & Park host's angelic face.

The View co-star gave us a little bit of retro chic mystique. And we heart her for that. With just slight layers and a color rine, Ciara shined on the red carpet.

Straight hair is simple, yet sleek and the teenager pulls it off beautifully. I'm not sure what happened here, Tyra is so normally on point with her hair game. This, however, looked as if it she forgot to give it a doobie wrap or didn't have enough time to blow it dry properly.

Between blonde-dipped ends and wavy short cut, we give her an a-plus for forward styling. The pixie frames her oval face well and allows her to play those eyes and cheekbones.

New artist, Y shows off her city-punk style with flaming red bangs swept up and off her face. Now this is a nice cut, but not enough products makes this hair look unbeaveable.

What can I say, I heart short hair with tons of texture. And Wendy's tousled short cut has that and more.

We couldn't help but notice Lyte's hair behind-the-scenes was considerably more enhanced than the flat, I-just-untied-my-wrap look for the red carpet. The former Steve Harvey Show actress flipped the script on her asymmetrical cut by flipping the front upward. Heart! We so heart this razor-cut shagg on Taraji. The texture on this wig is really, beyond and pretty spicy, like her.

This hair looks like helmet hairEither very long or super short like Halle, her twin

Tatyana's updo is sophisticated, yet playful with strategically placed wisps of hair. The former Top Model contestant looks regal in this upsweep. Her bangs take centerstage, while the back is neatly swept up.

We typically heart Kim, but this style is so ordinary, it does not say special or sexy. And Kim, you deserve to be both. Now what went wrong here? We're still trying to understand why Lil Mama allowed someone to do this to her.
