Editor's Pick: Creme of Nature Perfect Edges pomade

Posted on Jun 14, 2012 By admin

I abhor gels. They flake (no matter what the bottle says) and leave my hair crunchy and brittle. Thankfully, for nearly a decade, I've had one primary go-to hairline smoother.

So when Creme of Nature sent over their newest, Perfect Edges, for review, I was intrigued. Made with Argan Oil, the latest "It" ingredient, Perfect Edges promised to smooth down my hairline no matter my texture. Since I'm transitioning, I wanted to see what it would do to my natural hair's new growth. In the a.m., after rinsing my hair with conditioner, I scoop out  a dime-sized amount and brush my hair back into a faux hawk. To my surprise, it helped to bring out tiny waves and smoothed the sides to, well, perfection. My only gripe? I'm not in love with its aroma: a musk-scent similar to a lot of woody bottom notes in fragrances. Not my personal fave. But what I am in love with is that it is non-greasy, it never flakes, leaves my hair moisturized throughout the day (and I have dry hair) and most important, does not weigh my hair down. $5.99, available at drugstores nationwide.
