In the first episode of Mary Mary's reality show on WEtv, we get real up-close-and personal with sisters Erica and Tina, and get to see them as working mothers and wives who happen to be Christian. "This is not a Christian reality show," says Erica during a post-screening Q&A at the Tribeca Grand in New York City. "But we are Christians. We want to show that we are normal people, we're not perfect and we go through difficulties like everyone else." In the premiere episode, we enter their lives during the middle of Erica's third pregnancy, Tina's struggles with choosing work over family, dissention between their sister GooGoo, who doubles as their fashion stylist, and new manager, Mitchell Solarek. And there is the interaction between husbands Warryn and Teddy Campbell (no relation) are music stars in their own right: "We don't have any wack men," Tina deadpans. Warryn is a music producer and played a pivotal role in the duos debut hit, "Shackles," and Teddy is the drummer for Jay Leno's "Tonight Show." Both are also a part of a gospel group called Soul Stirrers. Rounding out the cast Honey Atkins, the sisters' mother (who birthed nine children and married and divorced their father three times), and youngest sister
"Our lives is about family and love," says Erica who just had a third child, daughter, Zaya Monique Campbell. "We are committed to a healthy family, we love our husbands and make sure that we have time that is just for us."
While we will see a wide range of emotions, discussions, what we won't see, says Erica and Tina," are more women going wild on television. "I am a strong, bold person," says Tina, who is currently pregnant with baby number four and who, along with her sister, serves as Executive Producers for the show. "And I have those moments where I might want to go off, but I am not crazy. I have control, I have a husband and children who I would never want to embarrass. And as an adult, you have control over what you say and how you act."
Set to release their 8th studio album, entitled "Go Get It," with a single of the same name, the ladies say the title is a reflection of how the sisters approach life. "We go after what we want," says Tina. "We don't sit around and wait for things to happen, we're not afraid to go after exactly what we want because before I die I want to receive every single thing that God has in store for me and my family."
