According to a press release issued, PETA's new "Vegetarian Icons" U.S. Postal Service PhotoStamp™ collection honors some of the world's most dynamic people from throughout history who went vegetarian out of concern for animals, their health, or the environment. Who else is on the stamp? Ellen DeGeneres, Paul McCartney, Leo Tolstoy, Leonardo Davinci.
"The more I learned about factory farming … the more I realized that I could not, in good conscience, be a contributor to such violence," says Russell Simmons. Leona Lewis, PETA's 2008 Sexiest Vegetarian, adds: "I am vegetarian so I don't have clothes, shoes, or bags made from leather or suede or any animal products," she says. "I'm on a mission." I think Leona and Uncle Russ are in fine company.
Congrats! See who else is on the list
